KGSP : 6th cultural experience

This 6th experience was pretty huge! Our coordinator took us to Gyeongju! For those who are not familiar with korean history, Gyeongju was the capital of the Silla Kingdom, the first unified korean kingdom. Therefore this city is full of historic places to visit!

Gyeongju is a bit far away from Gwangju so we left for 2 days and one night.

On the first day we went to Bulguksa temple, then to Seoguram grotto. We had free time to rest at the guesthouse before leaving at night enjoying the royal tombs, the observatory and Anapji pond. Everything was payed by the university of course. The guesthouse was super nice, we were all sleeping on the same floors in 4-people rooms and they were old style rooms so we slept on the floor.

The second day we were supposed to have outside activities but because of the rain we ended going to the national museum of Gyeongju and going back early to Gwangju. It was overall an amazing trip and I was happy I had the opportunity to share these moments with my KGSP friends!~

  1. Hello there anyaelf! I hope you’re having a great time in Korea. I just want to ask, aside from these cultural experiences that they provide you, are you being given free times alone like to go out and explore the locality of the place? If so, how often is that. Have fun!!!!

    1. Hello! When you are studying korean during the 1st year you only have 4 hours class/day so you can freely go around during week and weekend^^ (after doing homeworks XD)
